The first of the 2007/2008 season Amarilla Golf club majors was held on Sunday 2^nd September, rather early in the season for many of the ‘Swallows’ to compete; I think they’re still waiting for the British summer to start!

Those of us that did manage to play enjoyed a typical hot Tenerife day although, thankfully, not as hot as last year. The conditions for golf were good, as the scores showed, particularly of a certain Ian Pilling! See results below.

The competition was sponsored as usual by Stevie’s widow Marion, who although no longer playing regularly did manage to dust off her golf clubs and play, returning a net score of 82.

The presentation of prizes was held on the terrace bar at the end of the competition followed by a roast pork lunch.
