Amarilla golf club members held the annual Margot Moffat trophy on Sunday 4th November 2007, the first ever trophy put up at Amarilla Golf Club and originally sponsored by the Moffats; sadly Margot is no longer with us but the event carries on due to the generosity of the current sponsors Brian and Sue Gladwin.

Dear Members
I cannot believe that 7 months of my year have already
gone and that Christmas is almost upon us again. However the Committee have
been busy and as you will see there is plenty of reading enclosed for your
perusal. As this will be the last newsletter before most of you return for the
winter can I just remind you that your handicap certificates and playing
records are requested, otherwise you will be ineligible to win any prizes.

Amarilla Golf Club – Masters 2007 |
Amarilla Golf Club in Tenerife held the annual ‘Masters’ golf tournament on 14th October 2007 sponsored as usual by Brian and Jan Masters. There was a good turnout of members supporting the event even though many of our ‘swallows’ have yet to return for the winter season. A hot sunny day with very little wind made conditions ideal although some of the greens were not up to the standards that we’ve come to expect in recent times.

Amarilla Golf Club – Presidents day 2007 |

Amarilla Golf Club held the eighteenth annual President’s Day on Saturday 16th September 2007 as usual a full days entertainment was provided starting with breakfast and coffee and continuing throughout the day with food drinks and the usual barbecue. This was a long, full, day of golf, food, drink and sunshine which went on well into the night. The presentation of a vast amount of prizes was carried out by the Tavio family with some of the winners having liberally celebrated their success before the official prize giving. |
